Core Info
“There comes a time in every former prodigy’s life when they have to be judged on their output as an adult. Eigsti’s just keeps getting more compelling and inspiring.” – Johnathan Widran, All Music Guide
Critically acclaimed and Grammy® nominated pianist Taylor Eigsti returned with Let It Come To You, released May 6, 2008 on Concord Jazz. Let It Come To You is Eigsti’s 6th album to date and 2nd release for the label.
Let It Come To You is an impressive 11-song collection of imaginatively refreshed standards and creative interpretations of newer works from artists as diverse as Pat Metheny and the pop band The Eels, as well as four original compositions. Eigsti opens the CD with swinging exuberance on Cole Porter’s “I Love You,” one of several tunes on the album that are studio first takes. It’s followed by another spontaneous take of Pat Metheny’s “Timeline,” which is dedicated to the late Michael Brecker and on which Joshua Redman guests.
