Core Info
"An impressive debut. 8/10" - Popmatters
"...this Portland quintet shows, wordlessly and with clarity, that beauty is at the heart of their music." - Synthesis Weekly
The newest addition to SoCal indie label This Generation Tapes, Strangers Die Every Day traded snow for rain when the band relocated from Boulder, CO to Portland, OR in 2006. In an attempt to grow the instrumental soundscape of their music and continue to expand the elements of rock ‘n’ roll, Strangers Die Every Day have blended their seemingly conflicted sonic ideals into rock-oriented chamber music.
Strangers Die Every Day are well suited to represent their genre, calling on hallmark
groups like Mogwai, Mono, and Spirit of Versailles, while keeping company with some
exciting contemporaries. The band’s debut full length Aperture For Departure was released March 4th with a tour immediately following. Previous tours have seen the band
share a stage with Thurston Moore, Jello Biafra, Tristeza, Saul Williams, Adrian Belew,
Rasputina, The Appleseed Cast, The North Atlantic, The Bad Plus, and many more.
